New desktop lamp is ready. I wanted to make something in chandelier shape, so decided to build 5 candles lighting. All parts are copper and brass with some steel.
The lamp has a dimmer, so it's very comfortable to control bulbs brightness, moreover, the two pairs of bulbs can be switched ON or OFF by two separate knobs. Thus you can power on one, two, three or five bulbs independently, or combine the number of them in a way you like.
All bulbs are IKEA Lunnom 2.3 W LED Dimmable A++ E14 economic bulbs with 200 lm 2200 K color temperature LEDs. At full power it goes up to 1000 lm. Very bright. But it's possible to use other dimmable bulbs if you wish to.
Dimming control is installed in the used water meter case, fully solid brass, massive and good. I purchased two such meters for the dimming control boards exactly.
The power plug has a mark made from copper wire for properly connection to power socket, cause the dimmer must be connected to L (or Phase) power wire to work correctly. So, before using the lamp you should find L wire in the power socket with special indicator. Not comfortable? For a bit only, it's not so complex to do.
Main power switch is added additionally to this, which is in the dimmer, so you can completely disconnect the lamp from power not pulling off the power plug from the power socket.
Most parts were made from plumbing parts manufactured in Italy, Spain and Germany. With some sheet of brass.
That's all for it. I'm going to build more lighting in different shapes and dimensions. Have a pair ideas for that, so till the next time...
