2020.06.25. Patination like the first try.

Just tried to patinate my first Steampunk flash drive. Purchased several small bottles of ammonium chloride of 10% and tried to make my work to look like older thing. Leaved all parts closed in the glass jar with the liquid of ammonia on 17 hours. Thought it will get some color within 4-7 hours but it won't, so leaved all throuhgout the night.

That's what it looks like after my first experiment with the metal housing I made for Kingston SE9 USB 2.0 16GB flash.

Two parts for the cap and threaded end of the case were taken from water supply joint of 3/8 in size.

Just cut off the nut and soldered few cut off copper tubes parts and other small details with the nut.

Made some exterior parts for the flash drive case, soldered on all of them and that's the drive itself now looks like.

Not too big but still needs to be used with extension cable. And it's heavy a bit, cause it's not a cheap plastic metal imitation, it's real full metal jacket.

Not bad for the first time I think. And I really like it! Well, will do the same with other drives which are in slow progress. Oh, forgot to mention, it has 42 parts made of brass and copper soldered with the soft soldering allow. It's possible to disassemble it and use the flash drive how it is without new metal housing.

2020.06.02. 30 Мая. И. Маск: Батут работает.

    Думал я, думал, писать или нет, Маск мне никак не симпатичен, ну, да ладно. Пожалуй, я перенесу День Космонавтики на 30 Мая. Это заслуга не столько Маска, сколько тех 6 000 работников компании Space X. Хотите спорьте, но не Маск создал Crew Dragon и Falcon 9, а именно инженеры компании. Вот именно им я сказал: Браво!!! в чате прямого эфира со стартовой площадки.
    И роль Маска тут не надо преувеличивать. Он талантлив, безусловно, он говнюк, это неотъемлимо. Но это моё IMHO, я достаточно начитался его твитов, так что могу аргументированно отстаивать своё мнение.
 
    Так что, ещё раз:

Bravo guys from Space X!!! You made that impossible to come true!!! Bravo!!!
