2020.07.28. Next Drive as example of other Patination.

Made other drive with the wheel, then tried out to patinate it in the fresh fluid. Left it in the jar for 10 hours and what it looked like after that.
One small tube was broken, I knew that the brass with thickness of 0,5 mm becomes fragile and can crumble. This went me to make the new tube.
Washed all parts in the water, then sanded for about 40 minutes. Don't like this bluish color but have nothing to do with it. Don't have any small tool to sand this bluish oxide in some places. Will try to think something how to do it.
Tried to use internal screw with M5 thread for the first time, not so good idea cause all nuts then should be with the same thread.
It's Kingston DataTraveler SE9 USB 2.0 32 GB inside the new case, can be used as usually but this heavy metal jacket requires USB extension cable. BTW, I make such one just this time.
The wheel is made of 3 mm brass, M5 thread and it's 21,5 mm in the diameter. It rotates very easy.
Quite big, weights a lot, not a cheap plastic, brass and copper, few screws are steel, others are from brass.
45 parts, pretty simple design, not for everybody maybe but good as souvenir or funny toy with ability to store up to 32 GB of your favorite photos, music and videos.

That's all for now.

2020.07.14. Next Drive is ready.

Made next drive yesterday, patinated it, sanded it today and here it is. I continue to learn how the patination works.
Leaved all parts in the jar for 9 hours, noticed that the liquid got some bluish color. I think it's time to use fresh liquid.
How it looks after about an hour of sanding. Maybe I have sanded it too much... Or, maybe not. Don't know, I still learn.
The same Kingston DataTraveler SE9 16GB USB 2.0 drive inside new case. Hmmm... don't like this bluish color... Will change the liquid next time.

Now 3 drives are made, will make more, want to learn how to make such design a bit more. I almost got to learn how to make the caps, still need to do the same with drive cases.
Not much exterior details here but my possibilities to make something are very limited. So, it is as it is.
Seems, need to work more on the fans, on the blades, to add something different in details...
That's all for now.
